Today on Christian Montessori Network we are kicking off a new series, ABCs of the Bible Crafts.
All of the bible school craft ideas in this series will exclusively be easy and affordable, so you never have to worry if you’re not a particularly crafty person, or about expensive craft supplies!
Whenever possible, I will also suggest bible passages to go along with the craft.
Today, let’s get started with an Angel Craft for Kids.
This is a pretty easy craft, and is a great follow-up if your child has been introduced to the Montessori Practical Life lesson of folding cloths.
While teaching about the bible, it is also working on fine motor dexterity, preliminary geometry concepts, and following instructions.
Materials Needed for this Angel Craft:
- Coffee filters (or doilies)
- Glue stick (I prefer the purple kind that dries clear)
- pompoms or construction paper for the head
- Pipe-cleaner (for an optional halo)
Fold one coffee filter in half, and the other in quarters (half twice).
Glue the “quarter coffee filter” onto the half coffee filter — the quarter is the angel’s body, and the half is the wings.
Add on a pompom or circle of construction paper for the angel’s head.
Before or after making this angel craft you can try reading any of the following bible passages that discuss angels:
- Matthew 18:10
- Luke 1:19
- Luke 20:35-36
- Revelation 4:8 (older kids)
- Job 4:15-18
What do you think of this easy bible school craft idea?

We’re linking up today with some other great bloggers who are all sharing ways to learn with coffee filters (and other affordable craft supplies):
