We recently found out that we have baby #2 on the way to our family. When my first daughter was born I was not familiar with Montessori methods yet. Now that baby #2 is coming, I definitely want to incorporate some Montessori activities and ideas with the nursery. Today I am sharing some ideas I found from other Montessori bloggers for DIY Montessori baby mobiles.
If you are unfamiliar with Montessori mobiles, here are the basic ideas behind them. The main difference between Montessori Mobiles and regular baby mobiles is that they are introduced when the baby is alert and are designed to help them focus, track objects, and organize to the objects in their environment.
Munari Mobiles
The Munari mobiles are black and white pattered balls and geometric shapes. Babies tend to gravitate towards objects that are high in contrast, hence black vs. white.
Here are three different ideas on the Munari Mobiles.

Octahedron Mobile
The next mobile to introduce is the Octahedron mobile. This mobile focuses on the Octahedron shape in the colors red, blue, and gold/yellow. They are hung at varying lengths on the mobile.

Gobbi Mobile
I think the Gobbi mobile is my favorite one so far out of the series. I plan on doing different shades of green or purple, depending on if it’s a girl or a boy.

Dancer Mobile
I can see why this mobile would be so interesting for a baby that is a few months old. The shiny shapes and figures dancing around them are bound to hold their attention and give them some fun shapes to focus on.
